Lorewo Team in Bulawayo is a group of eight persons, one supervisor, four technicians, one taylor, one handyman and a consultant. The supervisor and the technicians have been picked out through job interviews amongst a large numer of applicants. All of them have mobility disabilities  themselves.
The Lorewo Team has been trained by experts from SINTEF and Technical Aid Centres in Norway in technical skills, ergonomics and principles of a service delivery system.
Two of the team members have been trained as Wheelchair Technologists at  TATCOT in Tanzania.

LOREWO offers services

The Local Rehabilitation Workshop will provide the local communities with wheelchairs, walking frames, crutches and other mobility aids as well as devices to solve practical problems in daily life.

The main services

  • Local manufacturing of wheelchairs.
  • Service maintenance and conditioning of wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
  • Offering high quality second hand and new mobility devices.
  • Assisting in developing solutions for people with special needs.
  • Offer courses for professionals who work in the field of rehabilitation.
  • Create awareness about technical solutions that can support independent living for people with disabilities.
