Welcome to LOREWO in Oshakati, Namibia

They are proudly presenting "Rhino", their own three-wheeler wheelchair prototype.

Lorewo Team in Oshakati is a group of eight persons, one manager, four technicians, two wheelchair technologists, and a consultant. The team members have been picked out through job interviews amongst a large numer of applicants. All of them have disabilities  themselves.
The Lorewo Team has been trained by experts from SINTEF and Technical Aid Centres in Norway in technical skills, ergonomics and principles of a service delivery system.
Two of the team members (Ismael and Silvanus) have graduated as Wheelchair Technologists from  TATCOT in Tanzania.

LOREWO offers services

The Local Rehabilitation Workshop in Oshakati will provide the local communities with wheelchairs, tri-cycles, walking frames, and other mobility aids as well as devices to solve practical problems in daily life.

The main services are

  • Service maintenance and repairing of wheelchairs and other mobility devices.

  • Offering high quality second hand and new mobility devices.

  • Manufacturing of mobility devices fit for local environments in Northern Namibia.

  • Assisting in developing solutions for people with special needs.

  • Offer courses for professionals who work in the field of rehabilitation.

  • Create awareness about technical solutions that can support independent living for peoples with disabilities.
