LOREWO Local Rehabilitation Workshops

Empowerment, participation, and rehabilitation for people with disabilities in low income countries

LOREWO is a Local Rehabilitation Workshop for mobility rehabilitation in developing countries. It is particularly designed to meet the demands where there are no permanent og non-sufficient services for people with mobility difficulties, regarding supply, maintenance and repair of assitive devices and training in use of such equipment.

LOREWO team members Ndjambula Silvanus (standing) and Joel Nghole are repairing a heavy used wheelchair in the workshop in Oshakati in northern Namibia.

Funding
The LOREWO project is funded by NORAD/Atlas Alliance (from 2001).
